Drinking when you have absolutely no idea what the ingredients are...

Two weeks after my roommates and I graduated from Drexel University and we decide that we want to act like young professionals and go out for dinner and drinks in Center City...mind you that only one of us has a job out of college and about the only professional experience is things that we learned during coop. So my roommate Taylor takes it upon herself to decide for the group that we should go to The Franklin Mortgage and Investment Co. (Not telling either of her other roommates that drinks were a tad on the expensive side...but I'm gonna be honest, she has a flare for the expensive) After eating at Smiths we walk over to The Franklin, most likely looking like three awkward girls because lets face it, that's what we were when we were confronted with a black door with basically nothing but a small green sign that says "The Franklin Mortgage and Investment Co."

After being greeted and taken downstairs we were welcomed into a small dark lounge with tables of two and small booths lining one wall. The walls were made almost completely of black tile and nothing but small recessed lighting dimly lit on the ceiling and candles on each table. We were greeted by a waiter who could tell that we had never been there before as we looked about 10 years younger than every other person in the bar. As we gazed at the "required reading" we soon realized that we had absolutely no idea what any of the drinks were. As I looked at each of my roommates we all looked at each other with the same face and laughed, knowing that we were each thinking the same thing..."What the heck are these drinks made of?" Finally deciding what I was going to order picking a cocktail made of gin, maraschino liqueur, lemon juice, and creme de violette (or more commonly known as Aviation). As our drinks arrived, each being a different color neon (AWESOME) we toasted to no more school and so long to our crappy apartment and started drinking. After about 2 sips Morgan and I traded because she wanted lemon juice and I wanted lime. During our time of sipping on cocktails and googling images of actors from 7th Heaven that Morgan's former roommates had dated in NYC (sad but so true) I realized that I didn't have any drink left. Looking at my empty glass I realized that I had absolutely no idea what I had drank, but I knew that I liked it. SO...If you want good drinks and an even cooler atmosphere, then go to the Franklin! Bottoms up to liquor I can neither pronounce or say that I have ever tasted but the I'd invest my money in The Franklin any day!

  1. There are a lot of different reasons for you to refinance your mortgage. What should I do to get lower interest rates when I get a mortgage refinance loan?
