Looking Back at 2011: The Beers We Enjoyed Most (Haiku-Style)

10. Hitachino Nest White Ale
Intriguingly crisp.
Interesting spiced finish.
And world's best label.

9. Dogfish Head My Antonia Imperial Pils
Wife bought it as a
make-up gift after minor
scrap. Wonderful girl.

8. Smuttynose Winter Ale
Best beer of the night
On night when I also had
North Coast Le Merle. Wow!

7. Speakeasy Prohibition AleKnocked this back in New
York bar Spitzer's Corner. Taste
grapefruit, caramel.

6. Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale (2011)
Not winter warmer
As I thought I remembered.
Awesome, hoppy beer.

5. Abita Christmas Ale (2011)
A total surprise.
Didn't expect much but got
Best Christmas ale out.

4. Philadelphia Brewing Company Fleur de Lehigh
One of the best scents
You will ever get out of
A beer. Like perfume.

3. Stone Oaked Arrogant Bastard AleI had Arrogant
Bastard before, but this thing
Took it next level.

2. Yards Philadelphia Pale AleJust another Pale
Ale? Nope. This is a master
Class in hoppy beer.

1. Lagunitas A Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale

This is the best beer
By the hands-down best brewers
Making suds right now.
