Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project Jack D'Or
The Audubon Ale House has a pretty decent beer selection. Still, I was constantly intrigued when I would approach their freezer case and see the cool label art of this Massachusetts Saison. Lemony scent. Slightly bitter mouthfeel. Golden color. Effervescent head. Bit of a lingering aftertaste. Overall, quite fine.

Booze...in 50 Words or Less: Clown Shoes Miracle India Pale Ale
Clown Shoes Miracle India Pale Ale
On label of this beer by the Ipswich, MA, brewery, it's detailed how percentage of item's profits goes to Clown Shoes Minor Miracle Fund, which benefits people in ways that aren't described. Makes it hard to say the beer is decent but pedestrian. Heavily hopped, but lacks additional flavor. Sorry!

Booze...in 50 Words or Less: Samuel Adams Dark Depths Baltic IPA
Samuel Adams Dark Depths Baltic IPA
I've always seen Samuel Adams as a large-scale beermaker. But their small-batch series is making me believe in their microbrew bona fides. This pours thick and creamy. There's a coffee kick in the finish, but hops pop in scent and sip. Great IPA/stout combo. Awesome label too!

Booze...in 50 Words or Less: Clown Shoes Hoppy Feet Black IPA

Tough to diss beer that was purchased lovingly by one's spouse, but here goes: Felt a little deceived by this. Supposed to be mix of stout and IPA, but I tasted mostly stout. Lacked hops. Not much of a scent. A plain beer experience and, well, not really true advertising.

Booze...in 50 Words or Less: Samuel Adams Tasman Red IPA
Samuel Adams is tough to peg. Big-box brewery? The sizeable commercial budget suggests they are. High-profile microbrewery? Maybe. Their collection of different varieties says so. As for this small-batch offering, it satisfies. Not only picking up strong hop flavor, but the rich smokiness of an exceptional brown.

Growler Wars: Harpoon vs. Troegs
Two growlers. Two beers. Two frosted glasses. One winner.

Harpoon Winter Warmer
I'm detecting clear traces of cinnamon and nutmeg. It's almost reminiscent of a pumpkin beer. While the spice in this beer is not what I would call subtle, it also does not overpower. It strikes a fairly nice balance. It gives off a powerful scent and features a fine dark color. Overall, it is much better than I expected it to be.
