Booze ... in 50 Words or Less: Stillwater Folklore Belgian Stout

Stillwater Folklore Belgian Stout
When my two favorite types of beer blend into one, it's a good thing. This is no exception. Smooth, coffee-flavored stout with Belgian-style spices combine for refreshing yet substantial taste. Bit of a chocolate, dried-fruit thing going on. Finish is a tad smoky. In a nice way.

Booze ... in 50 Words or Less: Dark Horse Reserve Special Black Bier Ale

Looks like a stout or porter, but the taste is a bit lighter. Could definitely knock back more than one without that "full" feeling that I get from multiple stouts. Smoky malt flavor with a slightly sweet coffee finish. Hoppier than I expected. An excellent winter beer.

Booze ... in 50 Words or Less: Troegs JavaHead Stout

I usually wait until the weather is a tad colder to go for stouts, but I am certainly glad I ordered this one when out for dinner at Chap's last night. It looked wonderful even before I picked up the glass - very dark brown with a bit of a chocolate head. Extremely smooth taste combination of coffee, chocolate and hops.

Booze ... in 50 Words or Less: Rebel Hill Off the Mark Stout

Strong coffee stout with just a tiny bit of sweetness. Hubby said he could taste whiskey, but me ... not so much. Great as a dessert beer. And even greater when you realize this is made by some guy brewing in his basement/garage/bathroom.
