This is THE pumpkin beer for any Belgian lovers out there. Nose and taste are only slightly pumpkiny compared to
Weyerbacher or
Smuttynose. At 9% ABV, I can definitely only handle one of these in a sitting. Reddish copper, slightly cloudy, quite smooth and very warming.
Emmental looks forward to trying this one as the Weyerbocker in his glass is falling flat.
ReplyDeleteTaking that comment back. On my third of four of the Weyerbacher here in Avalon reading The Girl Who Played with Fire and listening to Duffy and Charlotte Gainsbourg on a balcony in the shade and a moderate breeze. Zen. The Imperial Pumpkin Ale is a bit light but it's nice to draw the experience out over a few all to yourself.
