Booze...in 50 Words or Less: North Coast Brewing Company Le Merle

North Coast Brewing Company Le Merle
Definitely one of the more intriguing (if not completely satisfying) beers I've had in a while. Was expecting a straight-ahead Saison, but what I got was a little bit of a sour beer. There's earthy, fruity flavor too, but not your traditional citrus. Thinking it might have been beet?

Booze...in 50 Words or Less: Lagunitas IPA

Lagunitas IPA
The best brewery currently churning out beer in the states? Stone could make a decent case. Rogue has myriad wonderful selections. Yards holds it down from a Philly perspective. North Coast? Avery? Great Lakes? All deserving dark horse candidates. I'd have to go with Lagunitas though. Their IPA? Simply majestic.

Booze...in 50 Words or Less: North Coast Brewing Company Red Seal Ale

North Coast Brewing Company Red Seal Ale
A pleasantly hopped, copper pale ale by the California beermaker. Was introduced to me by a treasured friend, a purveyor of fine spirits and a man of knowledge and taste. Their Brother Thelonious is also the "bomb diggy." To the gent who hipped me to this...I LOVE YOU, MAN!!!!

Booze...in 50 Words or Less: Smuttynose IPA

Smuttynose IPA
California makes great IPAs. Something in the water, perhaps? Bear Republic. Stone Brewing. North Coast. The list goes on. However, I just sipped a Smuttynose. Is it possible that the best IPA out there is coming out of New Hampshire? I know two old codgers who would say "Damn skippy!"
